About Us

Our Mission Statement

We aim to provide an environment for children where they are encouraged to learn by exploring, experiencing and refining the senses that are fundamental to their preparation for life.

Our goal is to make Montessori education affordable and accessible to all.

THE MONTESSORI APPROACH
Montessori education is a learning approach developed by Italian physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori. Montessori education is practiced in estimated 30,000 schools worldwide. The goal of Montessori education is to foster a child’s natural inclination to learn. Montessori teachers guide rather than instruct, linking each student with activities that meet the child’s interests, needs and developmental level. The classroom is designed to allow movement and collaboration, and it also promotes concentration and a sense of order. Unique learning materials beckon from accessible shelves, inviting small hands to take on new challenges. One concept or skill at a time.

Programming

We are licensed by the ministry of education to provide care to children between the ages of 18 months to 5 years.

We aim to provide an environment for children where they are encouraged to learn by exploring, experiencing and refining the senses that are fundamental to their preparation for life.

Our program provides a complete curriculum which foster optimal growth of children in all areas including social, emotional, physical, communications/language and cognitive development.

This setting promotes self-direction, initiative, independence, building of trust and self-esteem. Family styles, value, cultures and traditions are respected and reflected in our curriculum.

_ COMMUNICATION WITH FAMILIES

The Wonder Years Montessori lays special emphasis on a family-centered approach. Communication with families is very important: families are important partners in helping us understand a child's learning needs. We welcome parent feedback and parent involvement through volunteering in the school field trips and other extracurricular activities. Our staff members are available to support families on all parenting issues.

The Montessori Records Express is a portal into our day to day activities and parents can log in and view their child’s progress and school activities on a regular basis. We also have a parent’s portal on our web site where we communicate with the parent’s and keep them updated on our school programs and activities on a regular basis via ‘TWY connects’ our monthly newsletter.

In the beginning of the school year, we have an information session where we provide information on our programming and the Montessori philosophy to our school community. We undertake a minimum of two field trips during the school year where parents are invited to volunteer and participate with the children.

In December, we have our annual Christmas concert and a luncheon where parents and siblings of children enrolled in our programs get together and experience the joy of giving and celebrate the holiday season.

We have two report cards followed by one on one meetings with each parent to communicate and brief them on their child’s progress and address any concerns they may have relating to their child.

This complements our routine interactions with the parents on a daily basis directly, through our MRX parent’s portal and our web portal. We also have an open house, where children have the opportunity to show their parents what they are working on during school time and demonstrate and show off their newly acquired skills and knowledge to them.
